In what ways can we honor the Holy Trinity?
We honor the Holy Trinity by trying to understand, as much as we can by faith, that by Baptism we are called to a close union of love with the three divine Persons. God the Father is our Father and Author of Life; God the Son is our Lord and Savior; and God the Holy Spirit is our Teacher and Guide.
God, the Holy Trinity, Who is closer to us than we are to ourselves, lives in our souls by grace. We honor Him when we remember His presence in our souls—the presence of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (John 14:23), and “I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever” (John 14:16).
We show our love for the Holy Trinity when we pray. We may pray simply as the Church does most often—to the Father, through the Son, in union with the Holy Spirit.
