What does episcopal consecration or ordination confer?
Episcopal consecration (or ordination) confers the fullness of the Sacrament of Holy Orders. This consecration, which is known as the high priesthood, makes a man a bishop. It confers the office (duty, function) of sanctifying. It also confers the duties of teaching and ruling in communion with the head and members of the College of Bishops.
